What is “flipping domains”?
Domain flipping is where individuals purchase web domain names for the purpose of reselling those domains for a profit.
Flipping domains is a method that has been around for several years and have provided huge amounts of revenue for successful entrepreneurs. Domain flipping can be easier said than done. There is a lot to look out for, plenty to avoid and this passive income idea, like others, has a scam element that you need to be wary of.
With that being said our course on flipping domains will walk you through the basics of how to find domains for sale, the background research you can do before purchasing, and finally, we will show you how to complete a purchase of a domain name.
Further in our course, we will show you how to sell domain names, including how to list your domains for sale. Our domain flipping guide will finally show you proven tactics to implement, this will give you the ability to plan each domain purchase, essentially: what domain to buy, where to buy the domain, how to market your domain, and most importantly, where to sell it!
In this guide we will teach you how to:
- Research a domain,
- Key points to watch out for,
- Proven strategies,
- Find available domains,
- Check previous versions of the domain,
- Checking the backlinks of a domain,

Keep in mind that for our guide, we will have an absolute budget of $20 to purchase a domain. This guide is intended to find these domains that can easily earn big profits and provide a huge return on investment. See below.
If a domain name is purchased for $10 and sells for $100 you will get a return on investment of 900%. This investment gain beats any ‘normal’ stock market trading and is why we teach our methods specific to this category of domain flipping.

Domain Flipping FAQ:
- How do I know if a domain is taken or not?
You can see this by checking directly with any of the registrar’s* by navigating to their website where there will usually be a search option to find the domain you want to buy. Alternatively, you can use our form below. Although this form won’t actually be able to do any other feature, it will tell you if that domain is available or not.
- I have seen a domain which has what looks like spam, should I buy it?
This depends, however for the purpose of an easy answer we will say no, do not buy it. A history of spam can usually mean your only chance of selling that domain is going to be someone who does not know how to check the background of a domain and therefore has not seen the spam history. This will have an effect on the price, as well as negotiating should you set your domain as an ‘offer’ rather than ‘buy now’.
- What is domain flipping?
Domain flipping where you will buy a domain, with the intention of never ‘using’ it. By this we mean you do not aim to set up a website etc. but rather purchase the domain with the sole purpose of reselling it for a profit.
- What is the return on investment from domain flipping?
Of course, it is possible to have a figure of less than 100% on ROI which means you would have lost money. However, if you know what domains to buy, and how to do the background research that is rarely the case. In the last few weeks, for example, a personal domain that was purchased for $8 was sold for $249.99, this would equate to an ROI of 3,024.88%. This is why domain flipping can be so appealing, an ROI of that rate is seldom found anywhere on stock markets.
